Irregularities in Nevada' Voter Rolls
The RNC said that a lawsuit will be filed against the state if nothing is done.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) took action, sending a letter to Nevada’s Secretary of State, alleging discrepancies in voter registration figures and hinting at potential legal steps to ensure electoral integrity.

RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel emphasized the necessity for Nevada to verify eligible voters, pointing to claimed violations of the National Voter Registration Act based on a comparison between public voter registration records and census data.

Highlighting concerns, the letter pointed to several counties with high voter registration rates, including three with over 100 percent registration in relation to the adult citizen population.

Notably, Clark County, encompassing Las Vegas and Henderson, and Washoe County, home to Reno, exhibited rates exceeding 90 percent, raising questions about the accuracy of Nevada’s voter rolls.

“By comparing publicly available voter registration records with the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2021 citizen voting age population data, we have determined that three counties have more registered active voters than adult citizens over the age of 18,” the letter alleges. “We have identified five other counties that have voter registration rates that exceed 90 percent of adult citizens over the age of 18, a figure that far eclipses the voter registration rate nationwide in recent elections.”

“These voter registration rates are abnormally or, in the case of counties with greater than 100 percent registration, impossibly high,” the RNC letter says. “This constitutes strong evidence that Nevada’s voter rolls are not being properly maintained.”

While the Nevada Secretary of State’s office has yet to respond to the RNC’s claims, the letter urged collaborative efforts to maintain accurate voter rolls and protect the election process. However, it hinted at potential legal actions if a satisfactory response isn’t received, threatening a lawsuit seeking remedies for the alleged issues identified.

“We look forward to working with you in a productive fashion to ensure the accuracy and currency of Nevada’s voter rolls and to protect the integrity of its voting process,” the RNC said before it threatened to file a lawsuit.

“While we hope to avoid litigation, if we do not receive the requested response, and if Nevada fails to take the necessary curative steps to resolve the issues identified in this letter, you will be subject to a lawsuit seeking declaratory and injunctive relief,” it warned.

This development follows former President Trump’s prior claims about Nevada’s election practices, escalating tensions that prompted a response from Nevada’s Democratic Attorney General, Aaron Ford, affirming the state’s measures to safeguard mail-in ballots and election integrity.

“State of Nevada ‘thinks’ that they can send out illegal vote by mail ballots, creating a great Voter Fraud scenario for the State and the U.S.,” he said at the time. “They can’t! If they do, ‘I think’ I can hold up funds to the State. Sorry, but you must not cheat in elections.”

Separately, the RNC’s letter emerges amid ongoing dynamics within the Republican Party, including discussions about primary debates for the 2024 election.

Despite President Trump’s absence from these debates, four candidates have qualified for the upcoming fourth debate, with the RNC emphasizing the opportunity for candidates to share their platforms with the American people.
